Liz's journey to becoming a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator began with the birth of her first child. She and her husband took a six-week childbirth preparation course at a hospital but did not feel prepared for labor and birth when the big day arrived. After a series of unesssary medical interventions, Liz gave birth to a healthy baby girl via c-section. Motivated by her own disappointment, when she became pregnant with her son two years later, she hired a doula (professional labor support person) and gave birth vaginally in a hospital with a doctor attending the birth. This amazing experience motivated Liz to look into becoming a childbirth educator. After the birth of her third baby, also a VBAC, (this time with a midwife) Liz completed her Lamaze certification. Liz is currently working towards applying to nursing school.
